PBD Recognizes the Second Annual James E. Dockter Scholarship Recipients


September 29, 2009 – Alpharetta, GA – PBD Worldwide Fulfillment Services announces three winners of the James E. Dockter Scholarship. The recipients are Chris Simms, Erin Williams, and Jordan Airich.

PBD employees with at least three years with the company were eligible to submit an application for their children.  Applicants were required to be high school seniors, recent high school graduates or college undergraduate students.  The recipients were selected by Mr. Dockter and PBD’s Senior Management Team based on the following criteria:  academic achievement, leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of educational and career goals, and recommendation by an adult. The scholarship of $1,000 may be used for undergraduate study only.

Chris Simms is the son of Carol Simms who works in the Customer Service department at PBD.  Chris graduated from Forsyth Central High School.  He is currently attending Young Harris College and is working toward a major in Music Education.  Chris is a member of the Alpha Omega Christian Fraternity and plays saxophone in the Young Harris College Concert Band.

Erin Williams is the daughter of Lisa Williams who is the Vice President of the Human Resources department at PBD.  Erin graduated from North Forsyth High School with a 3.9 GPA and was also President of her class her Junior and Senior years. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Thespian Society, and of the Student Government. Erin is currently attending Georgia College and State University where she is working toward a major in English and Drama and a minor in Photography and Italian. 

Jordan Airich is the son of PBD employee Brenda Airich who works in PBD’s Human Resources department as the receptionist at the Alpharetta facility. Jordan is now a freshman at Georgia Southern University and is working toward a major in Sports Management. He enjoys baseball, in which he played catcher for Roswell High School. When the winners were announced Jordan said, “It is obviously nice to win a thousand dollars for writing an essay, but the real prize is the accomplishment and gained motivation for success.”
