PBD FOUNDED IN COLUMBUS, OH
Professional Book Distributors, Inc. was founded by James E. Dockter in Columbus, Ohio.
PBD named one of the "500 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies in the USA" by Inc. Magazine.
PBD RELOCATES TO ATLANTA, GA
PBD relocates company headquarters to Atlanta, GA. This decision proved to be the right one and PBD quickly began to outgrew its 30,000 square foot facility and moved to a larger 40,000 facility.
PBD MOVES TO BLUEGRASS PARKWAY
By 1991, PBD outgrew their 40,000 sq. ft. facility and moved their headquarters to their current location in Bluegrass Parkway.
In 1991, UPS moved their headquarters to Atlanta, GA, strengthening PBD's relationship with the largest carrier and making Atlanta an international logistics hub. PBD would become the largest UPS shipper in the Southeast.
2ND GENERATION OF OWNERSHIP
PBD begins transition to second generation of ownership. Scott Dockter is named CEO/President of PBD Worldwide.
PBD named a national finalist in the "Best Customer Service Organization" category for the American Business Awards.
EXPANSION TO CHICAGO, IL
PBD makes the strategic move to Chicago, IL. This central location enables PBD to offer two-day delivery to most cities in the U.S.
PBD OPENS WASHINGTON, D.C. FULFILLMENT CENTER
PBD celebrates 40 years in business & is named "Top 3PL Provider" by Multichannel Merchant.
PBD LAS VEGAS OPENS
PBD expands west, opening a fulfillment center in Las Vegas, NV.
